My dad was singing for a very special occasion here…50th year of SCACS (South Caroline Association of Christian Schools) teacher’s convention. He was the executive director of SCACS for at least 30 years.
I believe God gave Dad extraordinary strength to sing his heart out with this touching medley centered on the wonderful gift of salvation that only comes from the Lord. (He was 80 years old in this video)
I LOVE how my dad leads the congregation! Guess I am partial.
He sings with gusto and conviction…adding enrichment to the meaning of the song.
This is Dad leading congregational singing at the recent 50th Anniversary SCACS Teacher’s Convention in Spartanburg, SC. (Hard to believe he is 80 years old!)
Yes, that’s me (off camera) in the background…just how I like it 😉
I love finding new songs (new to me). We’ve used this particular song over the last several years at our church for special music.
“Then Came Jesus” has a great message of salvation. I also like that there are only two verses which helps my voice not to be worn out! 🙂
We left out the repeated chorus at the end. Here’s a video of myself and another lady singing “Then Came Jesus” in our church.
The original arrangement is written for a ladies’ trio. I’ll include another video below ours… of the trio arrangement.

I would like to use the cash prize for the betterment of my website. Attending the Composer Symposium this past July was a result from winning the Spring competition of last year. Thanks to all of you who made that possible! I learned ALOT too!
