“When We All Get Heaven” Advanced Piano Solo
One of my many favorite hymns! “When We All Get to Heaven” is more of an upbeat hymn.
The lyrics were written by Eliza E. Hewitt. She was a school teacher from Philadelphia. One of her students hit her with a heavy slate on her back. She suffered a severe spinal injury from this incident.
She was an invalid the rest of her life. Eliza chose to write uplifting poetry and gospel hymns the rest of her life. A different person wrote the music to this well-loved hymn.
She met a lady, Emily Wilson, at summer camp. They became friends and Emily wrote the tune to “When We All Get to Heaven.”
