I had to scramble to cover Memorial Day Sunday at our church after being sick for two weeks.

So….I kept things simple for us to learn in time.

Piano two:  late elementary

I really enjoyed my recent visit with Lynndale Hardeman via Zoom!

Lynndale is the wife of a retired Pastor.  They spent a number of years in Georgia and then twenty years in Alabama where her husband pastored a church.

Now they reside in Texas near family.

Lynndale is known for her following songs: God Can and Thou Art Worthy.

There’s a third song by Lynndale that we have used in our church MANY times as a vocal solo…entitled….”God Has Provided a Lamb”.

I’m working on a solo/duet arrangement of this song that I hope to publish very soon!  I will let everyone know as soon as I publish it.

Did you know that an octave stretch on Chopin’s piano was equivalent to a 7th on our piano?

He didn’t have to stretch as far as us!

Chopin also taught three lessons a week to each student!

Just finished watching this very educational video on “tone color”

Time to start practicing for a Mother’s Day special!  Our ladies and young girls are going to sing “My Mother” this year.

There’s a total of three verses.  The song also has a chorus.

Verse one and two sound best for the ladies.  Verse three is appropriate for the young girls. (Ages 4 through teens)

The girls will join in on all the choruses.

We start rehearsing this Sunday until the day we sing on Mother’s Day.
