Final touches have been added to the sheet music for Make Me a Blessing (very advanced piano solo).

This is a four page arrangement.  I  began in c minor to match the mood of the text and then when the text grows brighter….and soars into C Major!

Here’s a peek at page three….(please excuse the misaligned left hand note in the first measure).

This is a rough draft 🙂   Not much left to finalize the entire piece.

My playlist of ten hymns will be taken from the old “Broadman Hymnal”. (pictured below)

There will be a mystery hymn in my playlist.  I tried to make it a little easier to guess this time…hopefully 😉

One of my readers asked if I had an arrangement for “It is Better Farther On”.

I told her I had never heard of this hymn.

She told me it was an old hymn.

So, I did an online search to hear the hymn for myself.

WHAT a pleasant surprise!  I REALLY like this old hymn!

The second and third verse are my favorites.  Verse two goes like this:

When my faith took hold on Jesus, Light divine within me shone.                       

And I know since that glad moment, “It is better farther on”.

I have plunged into the fountain, Flowing free for everyone; 

I am saved and Hope is singing, “It is better farther on.”

I started writing this arrangement a couple of months ago and then misplaced it!  I just found it this past weekend and was able to finish it today.

It was fun to use a lot of colorful chords for a more majestic sound.

My Dad, Reece Yandle, wrote this moving song  many years ago.  It’s finally available in print!

I wish I had a recording of him singing this arrangement.

This Patriotic song has a wonderful message….reminding us to love our country and to remember that God gave us America and we need to keep her free!

The beginning of the chorus reminds us to honor our flag

Now for a fast paced upbeat arrangement of Heavenly Sunlight!  I love this old hymn which reminds Christians that God will never fail them no matter what is happening in their lives.

I chose to arrange verse one and two for this piece.

Verse One

Walking in sunlight all of my journey, Over the mountains thru the deep vale.

Jesus has said, “I’ll never forsake thee,” Promise divine that never can fail.

Chorus:

Heavenly sunlight, heavenly sunlight, Flooding my soul with glory divine.

Another easy to learn patriotic piece requiring minimal practice!

I wrote this one for my daughter-in-law and myself to learn the weekend before Memorial Day.

It turned out real nice!  Sounds big but not as hard as it may sound.

My favorite parts are the intro, the small run from piano to piano on the third page and the colorful chord progression used for the ending!
