Advanced Sacred Piano Solo: Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

Wednesday, February 24th, 2021

“Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus”…an excellent reminder to focus on Jesus as we travel through this earthly life.

As I grow older…the words to these old hymns become even more meaningful.

Here’s a homespun hymn arrangement of “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus.”   I just played from my heart and tried to replicate via paper 😉

I especially love the last verse:

“His Word shall not fail you_HE PROMISED 🙂

Believe Him and all will be well.

Then go to a world that is dying, His perfect salvation to tell!

This arrangement is VERY advanced due to at least a half dozen runs…measure #42 contains a run I’ve never used or seen before…but it just seemed to fit.

I will admit it’s the hardest run for me to play in this arrangement.  But…with practice it can happen 🙂

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus
Advanced sacred piano solo, 4 pgs. A majestic entrance to this arrangement opens up to the chorus and then goes into a verse with a final chorus. At least a half dozen runs are included in this exciting arrangement!
Price: $4.00

Introducing Ten New Solo Arrangements for the Elementary Level Pianist!

Friday, November 20th, 2020

I just published a volume of ten Early elementary level sacred piano solos originally written for my students to play for congregational singing.

I have up to three students playing along with me in church now whenever they can!  We use these arrangements for offertories and preludes too!

Keep in mind….these arrangements can only work for congregational singing IF the student’s keyboard or piano can be transposed to match the key of the lead pianist.

My students are LOVING playing in church in a group setting. They’re actually progressing much faster!

Early Elementary Sacred Piano Volume One
Volume One: Nine Early Elementary Sacred Piano Solos plus one two piano arrangement. (10 songs total) I wrote these arrangements for my piano students to play for congregational singing but can be used for offertories too! Tip: Works great for piano ensemble playing too 🙂 * I usually have at least two students playing these arrangements for congregational singing or for offertory in addition to me playing along. Each arrangement includes suggested fingering & lyrics.
Price: $12.00

Click on video below to hear all the arrangements in this volume.

FREE Piano Arrangement: Come Ye Thankful People Come

Tuesday, November 17th, 2020

Several weeks ago I sat down at the piano to create a congregational arrangement for one of my intermediate level students.

I lacked two measures finishing the hand-written copy when my student walked in for her lesson.

Instead of holding off to share…I assigned her to finish the last two measures on her own for that week.

I reminded her to stay true to the texture of the arrangement which she did very well!

Here’s the finished product that we thought we’d share with other church pianists that may need a quick offertory or as a congregational arrangement.

Click on hymn title for free download.   I’ve also posted Allie playing the arrangement below.

Here is an early advanced arrangement of “Crown Him with Many Crowns”.

I consider this one of my home-spun arrangements straight from the heart.

This is the style I like writing the best!

I will probably play this piece for Thanksgiving service at our church.

Crown Him (early advanced)
Early advanced sacred piano solo, 2 & 1/2 pgs. Contains: intro, one verse, two choruses and an ending Key: C Major This would make a nice Thanksgiving day selection or any other time of year.
Price: $3.50

New Vocal Solo by Ady Lowder: He’s a Wondrous Glorious God!

Monday, October 19th, 2020

Just in time for Thanksgiving!  One of my piano students wrote a song, “He’s a Wondrous Glorious God” a good while ago.

Her song is now available as a vocal solo with piano score at:  Sheet Music Plus

The words & melody are Ady’s.  I just arranged/provided the piano score for the vocal solo.

Ady is SO ecstatic about having her song published!

Listen to Ady share her excitement in the first video below.  The second video is of her singing the entire arrangement.

God has blessed you Ady 🙂  Always use your talents for Him.

Grateful Church Pianist

Saturday, October 10th, 2020

As a church pianist…I’m extra grateful for my parent’s influence on my life by providing me with a rich heritage of godly music.

My Dad turned 84 today and still singing for God’s glory.

Just thought I’d share a family video of him singing a couple of years ago with a long time family friend, Jerry Baker. Jerry Baker and his wife Linda, were missionaries in Christian broadcasting for a number of years.
