I’m adding the final touches to “Standing on the Promises” early advanced piano arrangement!

The arrangement consists of a brief intro, two verses, two choruses and a short ending with a steep climb up the keyboard!

The ending of this piece sounds different than anything I’ve ever done but just seems to fit.

I hope to publish Standing on the Promises by September 4th.

I just published a late intermediate level piano solo of “I Need Thee Every Hour with the chorus of Close to Thee.

The words to both hymns remind me to have total dependence on God.

I’ve always enjoyed pairing I Need Thee with the chorus of Close to Thee.

What a reminder for us all…a call of total dependence on God!

Our God is gracious and tender!  He wants us to call on Him.

I pray you have all called on God to be your Savior.

I could not imagine life without Him!

When I got saved at the age of 29…the lyrics of the hymns took on a whole new meaning.

Wow!  This arrangement of Make Me a Blessing  was literally a handful to write …but fun too!

Have you ever thought about the mood of verse one?  The lyrics are on the sad side for the first part of the first verse.

So, I began in a minor key and then transitioned to Major key as the words depicted.

You need long fingers to reach some of the chords….especially the tenth chord in the left hand on the third page.

No worries…it’s a “rolled” chord 😉

Make Me a Blessing

Final touches have been added to the sheet music for Make Me a Blessing (very advanced piano solo).

This is a four page arrangement.  I  began in c minor to match the mood of the text and then when the text grows brighter….and soars into C Major!

This is a rough draft 🙂   Not much left to finalize the entire piece.

There will be a mystery hymn in my playlist.  I tried to make it a little easier to guess this time…hopefully 😉

Now for a fast paced upbeat arrangement of Heavenly Sunlight!  I love this old hymn which reminds Christians that God will never fail them no matter what is happening in their lives.

I chose to arrange verse one and two for this piece.

Verse One

Walking in sunlight all of my journey, Over the mountains thru the deep vale.

Jesus has said, “I’ll never forsake thee,” Promise divine that never can fail.

Chorus:

Heavenly sunlight, heavenly sunlight, Flooding my soul with glory divine.

Hallelujah! I am rejoicing; Singing His praises Jesus is mine.

Verse Two

Shadows around me, shadows above me

Never conceal my Savior and Guide, He is the light; in Him is no darkness. Ever I’m walking close to His side!

Heavenly Sunlight

Another easy to learn patriotic piece requiring minimal practice!

I wrote this one for my daughter-in-law and myself to learn the weekend before Memorial Day.

It turned out real nice!  Sounds big but not as hard as it may sound.

My favorite parts are the intro, the small run from piano to piano on the third page and the colorful chord progression used for the ending!
