Sorry for the low profile lately. I’ve been recouping from being sick since returning from vacation a week and half ago.

My daughter-in-law requested a violin solo arrangement of Nearer My God to Thee. I finally finished tweaking it! 😉

I enjoyed weaving the melody back and forth from piano to violin. Nearer My God to Thee is a very comforting hymn; making if a nice solo piece for any occasion but especially a funeral.

Nearer My God to Thee

New! Canon in C (Bridal Processional)

Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017

Finally! My first time to play for the Bridal processional without having to condense off the top of my head!

The Bridal entrance and then the introduction of the couple followed by recessional… are what I consider the highlights of a wedding ceremony.

Both of these highlights are so short lived…making it a challenge for the pianist or organist who usually have to condense or shorten the music selection.

One of my dear friends just got married this past Saturday and wanted Canon in D as the Bridal song.  I tinkered around with an intro and also tried making Canon in D sound regal instead of laid back.  Of course the idea for an intro didn’t hit me until a few hours before the wedding rehearsal.  I am so use to playing the traditional version…so I had to write out the condensed version.

This particular arrangement was meant for the Bride only….so it’s shorter than most wedding selections.

*Tip: I like to taper off (play gradually softer) when the bride gets closer to the front of the auditorium.

Canon in D (Bridal Procession Only)
Piano arrangement; Bridal processional only. Approx. 40 seconds. One page. Ever had trouble condensing the traditional Bridal March? Look no more! This short and to the point selection fits the occasion! A nice trumpet fanfare for the piano introduction...makes for an exciting grand entrance.

“Then Sings My Soul” formerly known as “How Great Thou Art” Advanced Piano Solo

Wednesday, January 25th, 2017

Just re-published “Then Sings My Soul” formerly known as “How Great Thou Art”.

I was asked by the music company that  owns the lyrics to the words of “How Great Thou Art” to rename this arrangement or otherwise pay royalties for the use of the phrase “How Great Thou Art”.

I personally don’t feel they can universally own the phrase “How Great Thou Art” but sincerely want to stay above board on this issue.  (It’s been and is still a very controversial issue with others besides myself).

The reason for my delay was trying to locate the original file to rename the arrangement.  I just found the file this morning while rummaging through old files that I had searched before numerous times.  (I was thinking the file had been lost a couple years ago when I accidentally deleted alot of my music files)

I’ve had MANY requests for this arrangement since taking it offline for awhile during the re-naming process.

Thanks for your interest!  I truly enjoy writing for you all!

What Child is This and O Come All Ye Faithful: Published!

20141204_103916

I just published an early advanced piano arrangement of “O Come All Ye Faithful” and a beautiful rendition of “What Child is This” for violin solo w/ piano accompaniment.

“O Come All Ye Faithful” is written in more of a prelude style but can suffice as a Christmas offertory.  This particular arrangement was also one of my homespun pieces…featured on the Christmas CD entitled “Simply Christmas”.  I did make harmonic corrections here and there in the written version because I couldn’t help myself! 😉

We hope to create  youtube videos for both of these arrangements by the weekend.

New Christmas Piano Arrangement: Who is He in Yonder Stall?

Wednesday, October 26th, 2016

I absolutely LOVE the words to this Christmas carol, Who is He in Yonder Stall?  The last verse into the chorus is my favorite part as seen below.

A big thanks to Mary Lynn Van Gelderen, one of my special piano friends, who helped me with the editing process. Mary Lynn said the arrangement  fit her hands perfectly 🙂

I visualized the lyrics of the first and  last verse when creating this arrangement.

Verse One:

Who is He in yonder stall
At Whose feet the shepherds fall?
Who is He in deep distress,
Fasting in the wilderness?

Last verse:

Who is He that from the grave
Comes to heal and help and save?
Who is He that from His throne
Rules through all the world alone?

Refrain:

’Tis the Lord! O wondrous story!
’Tis the Lord! the King of glory!
At His feet we humbly fall,
Crown Him! crown Him, Lord of all!

Words & Music by Benjamin Handby (1833-1867)

Who is He in Yonder Stall (NEW)
Moderately advanced Christmas piano solo, 3&1/2 pgs. Approx. 2:22 length Nice arrangement for offertory or other special event. The key change in the middle of the second verse soars into a joyful ending!

New Christmas Piano Arrangement: Silent Night (Intermediate)

Saturday, October 8th, 2016

I posted a new early intermediate level piano Christmas arrangement this week in our online music store for “Silent Night”.

This particular arrangement was written for the piano student in mind so there’s more structure to it.

Just Published: Am I a Soldier of the Cross (early intermediate)

Thursday, September 15th, 2016

I just published an early intermediate sacred piano solo of “Am I a Soldier of the Cross”.  One of my male students specifically requested this song for an offertory arrangement. Knowing this hymn was rather short…I asked him if he would like a medley with this song in it but he didn’t seem interested in my suggestion….so…I had to add an interesting intro, interlude and ending just to make this arrangement last long enough 😉

You’ll notice more structure in this piece since it was written for the student in mind.
