    Thank you for posting this! It was helpful. I can transpose to all major keys, but I can’t improvise as well with keys that have more flats and sharps. Is that what you were meaning by your weakness? Thanks again!

    Yes! 😉 one of my weaknesses is playing hymns beyond three sharps or five flats.
    Most hymns fit the range of keys I play in…thankfully! 🙂

    In all the examples you gave, did the chorus naturally start on the 1 chord or did you have to put it there? If it was already there, is there a way I can substitute chords so that I can make the chorus start on the 1 chord even though the original song isn’t written that way? Thanks

    Yes, the chorus examples naturally started with the I chord.

    We modulate down by 1/2 and whole steps.
