Come join me for an evening of Christmas carols this coming Thursday, December 19th at 8pm EST.
I will be playing live on Facebook at the following link: PIANO CHRISTMAS MUSIC
My dad passed away peacefully on June 2nd with most of his immediate family present.
I wasn’t able to get there soon enough before Dad passed but I did get to talk face to face with him on my phone.
How I miss him but know he’s so much better off. My Mom is doing well. God has brought much peace to our family.
Thank you all for your prayers and notes of encouragement.
Dad & Mom were a big part of my musical training without them even realizing it. They always brought the hymns and songs to life by singing with such expression as though they were just speaking the words. Dad always taught me to “feel” the music.
He would say “Singing is just elongated speech”. How true that is!
Over the years the words to hymns have been such a balm to my soul. Now…hymns have taken on a deeper meaning.
Mom and I were talking the other night on the phone…trying to come up with a playlist for tomorrow’s facebook event.
We decided to focus on hymns of heaven & comfort. Mom reflectively said, “You know…Dad sang more about heaven
recently than any other time.”
I will be playing live on Facebook tomorrow evening June 16, 2022… at 8pm EST. Anyone on or off facebook can view the video at the following link:

Hymns of Heaven & Comfort Playlist
I’ll be playing a handful of John W Peterson songs in addition to a new advanced arrangement of God Will Take Care of You.
I plan to publish God Will Take Care of You by this Saturday. Speaking of comforting hymns…WHAT a comforting hymn! The words and melody are SO soothing. Once you hear the story behind this hymn written in 1904….the hymn will mean even more to you! From the mouth of a young one this hymn was born!
Please join me for an evening of music around the piano. Wish you all could be here in person so we could hear everyone sing together!
See the playlist below for tonight’s list of Comforting Hymns for June 17, 2021 at 8pm EST. Grab your hymnals so you can sing along!

Looking forward to having one of my students over this Thursday evening to share some music with you all via live facebook.
Ady LOVES playing the piano and singing! She’s going to play and sing a song she composed not too long ago entitled “Wondrous, Glorious God”…a great selection for Thanksgiving!
She doesn’t know it yet, but I’m going to present her with the complete arrangement (vocal and piano score) in Thursday night’s live facebook event.
Her song “Wondrous Glorious God” will be available on Sheet Music Plus by this Saturday. (She doesn’t know that either….LOVE surprising my students!) 😉
See you all soon! This Thursday at 7pm on my facebook music page: https://www.facebook.com/thechurchpianist
You do not need a facebook account to view this live event on Thursday evening at 7pm EST
Oh! I almost forgot! I’m also publishing an early advanced piano arrangement of “Crown Him with Many Crowns” by this Saturday as well.
The whole arrangement: verse chorus, chorus is in the key of C Major 🙂
Today is the last day to turn in your suggested topic(s) for the upcoming Facebook live session for church pianists on October 12 at 8pm.
The “most suggested” comment will be our main topic. I will announce our topic in a couple of days.
Click “comment” below to leave your suggested topic(s).
Oh…wanted to mention….my friend Meryt Wilson will be my cohost! She teaches piano at Ambassador Baptist College. We’ll open the session with a brand new Christmas two piano number (which I’m working on at the moment for another SMPress Contest).
Excited about this event! Mark your calendars now!
