New Advanced Sacred Piano Arrangement
Wednesday, November 17th, 2021Just finished an advanced piano solo for “Praise Him! Praise Him!”
This arrangement requires lots of energy on my part!
There are tempo changes to avoid the piece racing out of control 😉
The thankful heart rings clear in this old and treasured hymn.
May we always be thankful to Jesus the blessed redeemer.
New Piano Arrangement! Praise Him! Praise Him!
Tuesday, November 16th, 2021
Praise Him! Praise Him! is a joyful tune with beautiful words of praise to our Lord.
I’ve been working on this home-spun arrangement for about three weeks.
The three tempo changes will help the pianist pace his or her self…during this “on the go” hymn arrangement.
Warning: Obey the three tempo changes or this piece will get away from you! 😉
The first tempo mark is on the first page. The melody begins with a dotted quarter equaling one one tick per three beats.
Verse two slows down just a hair with a dotted quarter note = 80.
On the last page there’s a final slight, slow down with a quarter note =76.
I would rate this arrangement at an advanced level due to many right hand four note chords in addition an overall fast tempo needed to bring this hymn to life.
Sorry I couldn’t get it ready sooner for Thanksgiving but this hymn can be used year round.
I plan on posting this arrangement no later than November 17, 2021

I’m also writing a piano duet of Joyful Joyful We Adore Thee this morning for my daughter-in-law and her son to play together.
I’ll do my best to publish all four by this Monday.

New Advanced Sacred Piano Solo: God Will Take Care of You
Friday, June 18th, 2021I tried to capture “note for note” how I play this particular hymn “God Will Take Care of You.”
What a fitting hymn in our day and age!
This has been the hardest arrangement for me to write but worth feeling my way through as I sing the words to this beautiful hymn!
It took me at least four days to learn page 4! I say this so church pianists will realize this hymn arrangement is very advanced.
Watching the video will help you with the interpretation of this sacred piano arrangement.
The interesting story behind this hymn is also included in the video below.
Elementary Sacred Piano Solo: Crown Him With Many Crowns
Wednesday, May 26th, 2021My grandson, Nathan, requested an arrangement of Crown Him With Many Crowns to learn over the summer.
I tried to keep the arrangement true to his level with the exception of a few spots. He will soon be in book 2B of the Faber piano book series.
You’ll note the suggested fingering as needed to prevent a lot of hand acrobats 😉
This particular piano arrangement consists of one verse and chorus…making it the perfect length for an offertory at a small church.
Easter Piano Solo: O Sacred Head Now Wounded
Friday, March 26th, 2021WHAT a rich text for the hymn O Sacred Head Now Wounded!
The writer truly depicted his overwhelming devotion and love to Christ for His sacrifice
It’s not a song you hear often but carries a message we need to hear every day!
May God bless you through this poignant hymn of Christ’s death and saving grace!
Advanced Sacred Piano Solo: Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus
Wednesday, February 24th, 2021“Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus”…an excellent reminder to focus on Jesus as we travel through this earthly life.
As I grow older…the words to these old hymns become even more meaningful.
Here’s a homespun hymn arrangement of “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus.” I just played from my heart and tried to replicate via paper 😉
I especially love the last verse:
“His Word shall not fail you_HE PROMISED 🙂
Believe Him and all will be well.
Then go to a world that is dying, His perfect salvation to tell!
This arrangement is VERY advanced due to at least a half dozen runs…measure #42 contains a run I’ve never used or seen before…but it just seemed to fit.
I will admit it’s the hardest run for me to play in this arrangement. But…with practice it can happen 🙂
