Wednesday, June 13th, 2018Having a blast at the annual Composer’s Symposium presented by The Martin Institute and Martin Creative Services.

Meet our panel of wisdom! (The majority of this group will be critiquing me Thursday, June 13th, 2018 for Master Class)
Left to right: Joel Rainey, Joseph Martin, Brad Nix, David Schwoebel, Robert Sterling and Steve Bock.
Church Pianist Update: What I’m Working On
Thursday, May 17th, 2018I’m feverishly trying to finish my early intermediate sacred piano solo book for Lorenz. It’s due June 1st. I’m working on the ninth one now. The book will contain a total of ten piano solos.
Here are some of the song titles: What a Friend We Have in Jesus, His Eye is on the Sparrow, Jesus What a Friend for Sinners, All the Way My Savior Leads Me and Crown Him with Many Crowns.
I’m also currently working on my next website video tutorial to present a certain fill-in that I LOVE to use!
In my spare time….I need to unveil a nice patriotic vocal solo by my Dad….hope to publish asap!
Need your help! Just need names of at least two hymns that use a 12/8 time signature. Thanks!
Prelude Music for the Church Pianist
Tuesday, January 9th, 2018How many of you church pianists besides myself grab the hymnal just before service to figure out a few prelude songs to play?
That works for me ONLY because I’ve been around awhile and and have memorized many hymns over time. Seriously, it’s best to prepare in advance…at least before heading to church.
I try to play within a certain theme such as: comfort, peace, joy, thankfulness, salvation, etc.
One of my readers recently emailed me asking if I would provide a categorized list of songs for prelude possibilities.
I also got to thinking….how nice it would be to write/arrange these preludes.
For starters, I’ll share the suggested prelude lists by topic. (Please note: Approx. 5 to 6 minute per prelude) if each song is played two times.

Sacred Vocal Solo Resource
Tuesday, January 9th, 2018My Dad, Reece Yandle, has several songs published through Lorenz and Sheet Music Plus.
Here’s one of my favorites that Dad has written. A great Easter solo or anytime of the year really.

New Arrangement Coming: While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks
Monday, November 20th, 2017Working on “While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks by Night” (early advanced piano solo).
The exciting part…I just came up with an intro and interlude that makes this arrangement long enough using only two verses!

New Writing Project for Lillenas
Tuesday, November 7th, 2017
I thoroughly enjoyed the Composer’s Symposium this past July in Atlanta. I made a connection with someone there (thanks Marty Parks!) who strongly suggested I try submitting “Abide With Me” via Lloyd Larson of Lillenas Publishing Co.
I finally emailed my arrangement to Lloyd just a couple months ago. He responded by asking me to do an early intermediate piano solo book instead. Wow!
We’re in the beginning stages of deciding on a book title and song list. I look forward to this new adventure! This will be my second book to be published by another company. My first solo piano book is entitled “Showers of Blessing” (early intermediate) published by Soundforth who is now under Lorenz Publishing Co.
My new book will be published (hopefully) by November of next year. At my age, a year’s time goes in a flash…especially with many other writing projects at hand!
Thanks for everyone encouraging me to write more! I plan to!! I’m living my dream…always wanted to write and share with others.
Gesu Bambino: SMPress Contest Submission!
Friday, October 13th, 2017Just to let my readers know….
I just submitted an advanced Christmas two piano arrangement of Gesu Bambino to SMPress Holiday Arranging Contest.
The contest selling period goes from October 18th through December 1st. The contestant who sells the most profit during this period wins $300 cash prize. So…if you’re wanting a copy….if you don’t mind waiting until the contest selling period. Thanks!
I would like to use the cash prize for the betterment of my website. Attending the Composer Symposium this past July was a result from winning the Spring competition of last year. Thanks to all of you who made that possible! I learned ALOT too!
This piano duo will be available on our site after the SMPress contest.
