With Thanksgiving just around the corner…”Come Ye Thankful People Come“ has been on my mind. Here’s a free piano arrangement of this old-time favorite.
Busy times…but still here 🙂 I’d like to share a free patriotic piano arrangement with my church pianist readers. My Country Tis of Thee is a very old hymn. The author of the melody is unknown but the words were written by Samuel Francis Smith.
This free piano hymn arrangement of “I Feel Like Travelling On” is geared for the beginning church pianist at an early elementary level.
My piano student featured in this video, is a church pianist who plays by ear but is learning to read music. She’s doing quite well! I’m writing arrangements with her level in mind.
Maybe some of you church pianists can share this with your students or use this free piano hymn arrangement for yourself.
Easter is just around the corner and church pianists are looking for Easter arrangements or already practicing one. I thought I’d post my free piano arrangement of “My Saviour’s Love”.
I meant to include this audio for the free piano arrangement of Jesus Loves Me.
A hymn which has truly stood the test of time…Jesus Loves Me.
This hymn was born from a story read by the co-author…William Bradbury.
The story goes…
A young boy was dying and a dear friend read the boy this beautiful poem for comfort…
“Jesus loves me! this I know, for the Bible tells me so. Little ones to him belong, they are weak but He is strong.
Jesus loves me! He who died Heaven’s gate to open wide; He will wash away my sin, let His little child come in.
Jesus loves me! He will stay close beside me all the way.; He’s prepared a home for me, and some day His face I’ll see.”
What comforting words!
William saw this poem as an excellent song for children. He wrote a melody for the poem and added the chorus as we all know…
“Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes Jesus loves me! Yes Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.”
This hymn has reached the hearts of young and old alike.

Our choir is singing “What Child is This?” in unison. We’re singing it in a lower key. Since the choir is unison….I like to insert chord substitutions to dress it up a bit.
I wrote a simple piano arrangement of “What Child” just so our other pianist could follow my chording to avoid chord clashes between us 🙂
Feel free to use this as accompaniment for unison choir or a vocal solo.
It wouldn’t be appropriate for a piano solo because the melody is missing here and there. Although, most of you could probably insert the melody in those places 🙂
