The Church Pianist: Piano Offertory Books
I just thought I’d share a couple of sacred piano arrangement books with my church pianist readers that I use quite frequently.
Fairest Lord Jesus by Dan Forrest (favorite arrangements: “Fairest Lord Jesus, Lead Me to Calvary and Hiding in Thee”) *Intermediate
Have Thine Own Way Mary Ann Van Geldren (favorite arrangements: all of them!) *Late intermediate
Draw Me Nearer by Faye Lopez (favorite arrangements: all of them) *Advanced
As a church pianist, I’m always looking for new/old piano offertory books. I will share more offertory books with you soon!

Jenifer, one of my favorites is the Lord Be Glorified series by Mark Hayes. I have had these books for about 15 years and never get tired of them! There is also a book that I have, it’s a bit older, called Blessed Be The Name and I think it is arranged by Don Phillips (but not entirely sure). I am like you, I love finding new offertory books!
Hey Kelly!
Thanks for sharing your favorite books too! I’ve heard of the first one by Mark Hayes but not “Blessed be the Name”. I’ll have to look that one up 🙂
This is not on topic, but what is the proper way to do a tremelo? –Like C octave. I really learned from the youtube video on proper pedaling and was wondering if you might put one up on tremelos. I encounter occasionally in choir music and wasn’t sure if I was doing it properly. Thanks for your time!
Hi Ayesha,
What an excellent question! Yes, I will do a youtube video on the tremelo technique asap.
Can you recommend one in the early intermediate stage? I’ve looked at those books, but am not quite there yet…
