The Lord gave me the opportunity to begin serving as a church pianist while I was in seventh grade.
My piano teacher had to move and fortunately she had just taught me how to improvise from the hymnal!
I started by playing octaves in the left hand and triads in the right hand for fullness.
Being thrust into such a posistion gave me an immediate desire to learn much in a short amount of time! (It was nice to have dad as the music director) 🙂
I was also blessed with six years worth of piano teachers who prepared me for this moment.
I thank God for allowing me the opportunity to have had piano lessons and for my parents investing in piano lessons for me.

My desire is to encourage other church pianists across the world by offering improvising tips and other helps through this website. A passion of mine is to bring the traditional hymns to life through creative improvising.
Several of my piano hymn arrangements and vocal arrangements of my dad’s songs have been published by Soundforth/Lorenz Publishing Corporation.
I look forward to sharing and learning along with my readers as we seek to glorify Him through our ministry in music.
Thanks for stopping by!
