The Church Pianist: Free Arrangement of O Store Gud (part one)

I’m offering another free arrangement entitled “O-Store-Gud” to church pianists. This will be part one.

How many church pianists have needed to play O Store Gud in a lower key?  I have… plenty of times.  I usually play O Store Gud in G major when accompanying male solos. Altos also like this key.

This free arrangement (part one)  is written at a basic level; allowing the pianist freedom to add their own embellishments.  The arrangement contains chords not found in the hymnal version of “O-Store-Gud”.

Church pianists are always needing hymns in lower keys. Periodically, I will provide such arrangements.

Thank you so very much! I have been asked at the last minute to accompany a vocal solo of “How Great Thou Art” at a funeral this afternoon and the version in our hymn book is too high. I searched online for “How Great Thou Art” in G and I found your arrangement. It’s perfect and I can’t thank you enough for providing it for free! You saved me today! Thanks again!

Thanks so much, you saved the day! I needed it this week and it really helped me out so that our pianist did not have to do this by ear.

  5. Martin says:

Thanks, you saved the day for our pianist– who would have had to figure this out on her own.

Thank you so much for this website. I needed this piece in a lower key for the Residents in a Nursing Home to sing. Transposing takes so much time!

I cannot get Page two of How Great Thou Art to open. I did not have any trouble opening the first page. I think it will be very helpful. I have to sing for a funeral in 2 days and the organist cannot transpose.

      2) In the address bar, delete everything until the forward slash after “02.”
      3) Hit enter.
      4) When the list of songs pops up, select “How-Great-Thou-Art-in-G-Major-page-two.pdf”
