The Lord gave me the opportunity to begin serving as a church pianist while I was in fifth grade.
My piano teacher had to move and fortunately she had just taught me how to improvise from the hymnal!
I started by playing octaves in the left hand and triads in the right hand for fullness.
Being thrust into such a posistion gave me an immediate desire to learn much in a short amount of time! (It was nice to have dad as the music director)
Now…many years later….I can look back on that time and be thankful for what the Lord has allowed me to learn.
